discuss 4 nations face off

The NHL finally understands that the format it is playing now has not been able to keep up with the changing patterns of sports consumption today.

This year, its bringing back the 4 Nations Face Off - between US, Canada, Sweden and Finland.

With that new direction, how do you think the fans are going to react?

Never been a big hockey fan, but that's because it's not really a big sport here over the pond. A widely known International tournament might go some way to promoting the sport a bit more I suppose, so can only be a good thing surely.

I feel very excited about the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off competition. This change adds new interest to the NHL by adjusting to new fans. The fans will love to see the intense competition between the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland at this tournament.

The 4 Nations Face-Off is an outstanding decision made by the National Hockey League. International competition creates passionate fan interest during this tournament since spectators will love watching their national team players compete.

This is exactly why NHL reconsidered their format and closed in on the 4 nations format.

Since Hockey is not a big game in most of the places, it would be very difficult to attract viewership. However, its a big game in four of these countries and consolidating the people interested in one global game actually makes sense.

The only hope I have is that NHL must conduct it in all the four nations simultaneously or atleast once every year in each country so that all fans get an equal access to the format.
