Twitter is raising its subscription price from $16 to $22 a month. What do you think about this? Will you stick with the new price or cancel your subscription?

The news was shared via Verge https://www.theverge.com/2024/12/23/24327918/x-premium-plus-subscription-price-increases

X has substantially raised the price of its top-tier user subscription in multiple regions to help bolster the platform’s creator payouts. The increase for Premium Plus came into effect on December 21st according to X, raising prices in the US from $16 per month to $22, or from $168 to $229 for annual subscriptions

Twitter has gone way downhill since the Musk takeover. The option they added to subscribe and pay for the blue tick was the start of the slow death, imo. Twitter is now full almost exclusively of trolls and people who like the sounds of their own voices in a huge echo chamber. I very rarely visit X/Twitter anymore, and usually only for work purposes if I do. I definitely won't be giving Elon Musk any of my hard-earned money.

Of course, a lot people are satisfied with Twitter of which I am one them. And takes after the Musk deal. This change has been brought by the introduction of paid services such as getting a blue tick on the app and I see that the kind of feelings I have is what other people have too. I can say that Twitter has become less fun.

Paying for twitter subscriptions by those who makes money there could be understandable. What I don't get is those who use it for fun making payment. Why is it so?

Out of curiosity, I subscribed for a month to the premium service, and I was very disappointed by it. I have not bothered with it again despite them constantly nagging at me to subscribe.

Twitter, or should I say X now, as it is known, has gone downhill fast. I barely use it now compared to how I used to because nothing ever gets seen now, paywalls are in the way and even then, that doesn't help at all either. I got more spam follows during the month I checked out the premium side than anything else.
