I think it is possible for the homegrown product in the United state of America to cost more and it's as a result of the high cost of production with high wages inclusive. This is what lead to the increase in the prices of certain goods.

I recently saw a videos where the label inside MAGA caps read "Made in China." For many years the United States was outsourcing manufacturing to China, and when they are trying to bring manufacturing back to the US, I believe the cost of product will increase. I once heard Tim Cook say they outsource manufacturing to China not because of cheap labor but because of expertise.
