A balanced diet has been advocated since time immemorial. Every kid is taught this in school. As we grow up and are able to shop and cook our own food, we realise that maintaining a balanced diet is such a challenge. Some of the factors that I face is, busy life gives less cooking time, so I resort to making what's fast to cook and in so doing things like green leafy veggies which take longer time to clean are left out of shopping list or end up rotting in the fridge. Although I love cooking, the heat of the day drains the energy out of me, hence I end up either skipping meals or resorting to ready to eat food items.
