The last year's Puskás Award was won by Manchester United player in the person of Alejandro Garnacho. It was his stunning overhead kick for Manchester United against Everton on November 26, 2023 that won him the award.

Among the so many great goals scored this season already, which one would be the worthy contenders to win the 2025 Puskás Award?

The goal that I have seen and think it is Puskas esque is Luka Modric' so strike against Girona. It was a ferocious strike from long range that gave the keeper no chance. Should get a nomination and probably win Puskas.

I believe that the goal is worthy of the award especially when you look at what Modric has achieved as a football player. If he ends up winning it, I will be very happy.

Puskas award is not about the pedigree of the player. It is more about the exceptional technique and the lower odd of the kind of goal being possible. That's why exceptional goals from unknown players have won it severally.

There has been some players that have scored directly from the corner flag through a corner kick. And I believe one of such goals would win the Puskas award. Neymar scored from a corner kick directly this season. Cunha and Son also scored from direct corner kicks against Manchester united for their teams respectively. It takes great technique to score such goals. I believe any of those goals would win Puskas. Or possibly be joint winners.

I don't have anyone in mind right now but I believe that players who are able to score very stunning long range shots or acrobatic goals would likely take it.
There's still a very good chance of witnessing more fantastic goals to be scored before the Puskás Award nominations ends and voting done. Keeping my fingers crossed.
