Football tops the chart as the sport with the highest fan base across the globe. However, baseball and basketball often run parallel on the popular chart among their viewers. Although, the popularity may have country bias, however, I personally feel that basketball is played more commonly throughout the world than baseball. The accessory employed for basketball is also relatively easily available than that of baseball. Which sport in your opinion, is more popular and why do you think it is so?

I can genuinely say that I don't know 2 popular baseball players. But basketball? I can go on mentioning them for as long as the names keep popping in my brain.
So personally, I'd say that basketball is the more popular one.

I have never seen people playing baseball in my country and across West Africa on the streets. Trust me, I have extensively travelled across West Africa. But it is common to see basketball being played on the streets and in high schools sports meets.

Based on statistics, basketball seems to be more popular than baseball. It has a larger fan base than baseball. In some regions it boasts of about 825 million followers which is very huge.
Outside the US, both basketball and baseball aren't very popular. Apart from the US only there was only few countries where they play these games. As far as I know basketball is more popular in the US compared to baseball. However, this is just a belief I have not checked the stats.
Baseball have a smaller fan base compared to basketball. From the data available, baseball have only about 500 million fan base while basketball have over 2.2 billion fan base all over the world.
