What's your favorite broke, but happy moment? Has there ever been a moment where you've been completely broke with no moment, but you were still completely happy at the same time?

What happened during this occassion that made you happy?

I think it'd be back in 2008 when we lost nearly all of our possessions in a bad decision to move. We were broke, out of money with our last dollars spent to get us back to Japan, but still happy that we were all still together as one.

Times were tough, but my wife and I still had each other to get through the bad and the ugly to see the good.

Obviously, my daughter didn't realize the gravity of the situation and was happy either way, for as long as she got her 10 cent candies after school.

My broken and happy moment was when I had to sell my things to save my mom's life. I even got a loan from the bank to pay her hospital bill but I'm so happy that she pulled through and she’s hale and hearty now.

When Michelle and I moved into our first home. We had no money for furniture as we spent everything on the house itself. That first night we sat on the floor eating toast and drinking cups of tea and it was the most incredible meal. We were so wonderfully happy.

When I was in college, I was returning home for term break, I did not have any money left apart from the train ticket, and had to sleep in a bench in the train station. I was with a lot of friends and most of us did not have money. Not having money did not bother us, we were happy.

When I'm broke but I'm not owing anyone, there's this euphoric feeling that I have.
A life without debt is peace of mind.
