How would you handle a situation where your partner, goes out at every opportunity with his/her friends, smokes, drinks and have fun? Would be very unhappy if you questioned this behavior, or warned him/her of the side-effects of smoking daily. There comes a point that, he/she would find ways to spend time with those friends without your knowledge, makes chat groups with lock and in return does things to please you just to pacify you and show that you are also important? But of course, nothing skips your knowledge. Mind you that these friends are of same sex as that of your partner.

When your partner spends lots of time with friends, communicate your feelings calmly and honestly. Try to find why he favors friends over you.
The best thing is to try and understand what thrill he gets from those friends. Offer it to him at home. If that doesn't work, you would need to talk to him about your loneliness when he is out with friends. Offer to always accompany him to those friends hangout. If it doesn't still work, find your way out of that relationship.
When you are in relationship, I believe your partner should be everything, a dear friend, love of your life, confidante. If your partner wants to spend more time with their friend compared to you, there must be something wrong in your relationship.
