off-topic What stupid reason have you been sued for?

I've witnessed a lot of people and even companies being sued for stupid things in which they ended up settling for it.

For instance, I still remember the lawsuit against Red Bull which argued their slogan “Red Bull gives you wings” was misleading and Red Bull settled for $640,000 as a result of that.

Have you ever been sued for a stupid reason which you had to settle for or did you win the case?

I've not been sued yet.

However, I've received many threats of it. Mainly running forums -- I've banned troublemakers and they demand I let them back or they'll sue me. So, I tell them to sue me.

I have not been sued and hope to never get sued. I have had occasions where I have been threatened that they would sue me, but they never came to anything, usually just someone having a go because they were upset about something and wanted to try and scare me.

You just have to use common sense for the most part.

It's why I never recommend forum owners publicly display banned users. I feel like it's a defamation/slander lawsuit waiting to happen and even if they lose, I bet you'll still pat some sort of lawyer fee. You'll be out money.
