The process of finding new friends during adulthood is extremely challenging to most people. I think the perfect solution to connect with people who shared similar interests with you is by engaging in recreational activities with other people. That would afford you the opportunity to become friends with your teammates.
Typically, I find new friends that I meet through hiking or biking these days. It's usually folks who want to hike or bike with me and can handle my pace and level.
Look at making friends with those whom have the goals and dreams as you do. It's the only way you would have a lasting friendship without any jealousy and envy.
Find a shared hobby and enjoy together. For instance, if you love football find someone who also loves football and go together to watch football. Shared hobby and interests can help adults to make friends.
