If I can't have a good communication with my partner, the relationship will find it very difficult to thrive. It might lead the relationship to die a natural death.

100% agree! You rarely see women have interest in football these days, so if I come across one, I really appreciate it a lot. If I'm dating a football lover, it's gonna be enjoyment galore!

Gossip is a subjects that bring my partner and me talking for a long time. But we do it constructively. We spend many hours exchanging thoughts. I think all couples are guilty of this.

I've been (mostly) happily married to Michelle for 25 years. Sometimes we will not speak to each other for a full day or more. That's not for any other reason than we are perfectly happy just being with each other. I do not feel the need to fill the silence with trivial chatter. I work on the basis that the less you say, the more your words are worth. Michelle, I think, works on the basis that she should just say anything that comes into her head. We have been together long enough that she doesn't feel the need to tell me everything and she has her friends for that!

If we had to spend a day talking, then our family would be the subject of discussion. We have two children, Sarah and Adam. She adores them. So do I in a different way. They are, really, our raison d'être.
