I believe the introduction of VAR - Video Assistant Referee in football is a very good thing. But over the years, it have brought so many controversies which questions whether it's helping or making football officiating worst with its high level of inconsistent decision making.

What are thoughts on the use of VAR in football?

The VAR serves an observer on the pitch. It covers every activity on the field of play. VAR has been a great assistant to referees since it was introduced. It helps referees to make fair decisions in football. But we should know that it doesn't work perfectly sometimes. It can be too picky and disallowing goals for tiny reasons.

The simple and honest truth right now is that they can't pull off the use of VAR in football now. If they do, it's going to breed so much controversy that's going to rock the sports hard. They only need to keep working hard to use it better.
They used the VAR very well in the recently concluded Euros 2024 tournament. There wasn't much controversy with the technology but when it comes to using it in the English Premier League, there's always a controversial ruling.

VAR has helped so many referees in making the right decision when they are unclear on the decision to make on the field of play. But we should know that no system is perfect. There are still some concerns about its judgment. When referees are more trained, it'll make it even more accurate.
I've been talking so much on how bad or poor the VAR is used in the English Premier League and forgetting how horrible it's used in the Turkish League. It's worst there with the corruption of Galatasaray S.K. in the league.

I usually put some good bets in soccer but var Personally make lose. I do not like it. For exemple, l play a team scoring 3 goals .. scores third goal in final minute but

The VAR is a good technology that has really helped in match officiating as it helps in making sure that everything goes well during the match. But sometimes, VAR can be confusing or make mistakes too. The use of VAR in soccer has sparked plenty of controversy, but its believe that this technology will end the confusion in football officiating.

If the goal that was scored isn't supposed to stand, VAR or not, it's not supposed to because officials are there to stop that from happening. Bet or not, no teams are not supposed to lose matches as a result of bad officiating.

As somebody who initially thought VAR was a brilliant idea, I've grown to absolutely hate it and be one of the people who calls for its complete and absolute removal from football. It has, and genuinely is, killing the game, especially for fans who attend games (like I do) and constantly suffer spending minutes not having an absolute clue what's going on with a particular decision.

When VAR was introduced the first time at a World Cup, which I'm pretty sure if I recall was in 2018, it ran there really well for the most part and I was optimistic for its future. Nowadays, it's a complete laughing stock, gets something horrifically wrong every week, and shows the consistency of a newborn babies' stool samples.

The constant inconsistencies in the use of VAR is what's killing it because I can't understand how the technology won't get something right which I can clearly see with my two eyes. Another annoying and frustrating part is what it fails to give the same decision for the same incident in different matches.

That second part is especially right. The inconsistency in decision-making is what makes so many VAR decisions controversial. Too many times this season alone we've seen almost identical incidents result in one case in a penalty and another case no foul. It doesn't make sense and there's not clear enough decision-making criteria for VAR decision-making in my view, or they're not communicating it well enough.

It's the most painful thing about the use of VAR. I think it's worst in the EPL. I've seen how the same technology is used in Spanish La Liga and also Italian Seria A, they have a far more better consistent decisions in their use of VAR than what we witness in the English Premier League.

The VAR provides assists and it assures that the referee’s decisions are impartial. But I still believe that the VAR should have a clear guidelines so that everybody gets to understand what is going on. That way, people would love it more.

I am really indifferent about the use of Video Assistant Referees in football. In one way, it has helped to reduce incidents of a team being cheated because of mistakes from a human referee. But in another way, it has made football look more mechanical and robotic.

Seriously, the technology and idea behind VAR is a very good one. The only problem is how they are being used. Once they can find a way to be consistent in applying the technology in a live match, it will make the sports better.

I think the introduction of VAR in football has reduced the possibility for mistakes and errors in football.
