Cloud storage has changed the way we store and access our files in this century. On the positive side, cloud storage provides accessibility and backup. However, significant questions arise such as security issues, the dependency on the internet, and data breach. Have you ever used a cloud storage which made you satisfied or scared? Let us know your opinions in favour or against the use of cloud storage.

The only con I can think of is when you do not have access to high speed internet, you cannot access your data. Otherwise, it is safer to use cloud storage.

I love the cloud storage because I can keep my photos and Papers and any other file type too. However, it would be difficult to access your stuff if you do not have internet connection. But I actually understand that cloud storage is really great and my files are also secure there.

I keep all my personal and professional stuff on the Cloud as it's like a "safe" to have 3rd and 4th redundancies (on 2 different continents).

However, I don't trust providers, especially since they could change their ToS at any time to use what's stored to train AI LLMs. So, everything I store is now encrypted.

It has really helped in the sharing of files on the internet. However, it is better to be safe and not let anyone see your files and that needs you to use codes in this case. This way only you can open the files and they will be much more secured.

The filenames are also scrambled too, so you won't be able to tell what exactly it is, either. It's not like "Mom and Dad at the park.JPG", it's like "usHsi7s8cubiSyAVuVs". Only my side can see the file name, metadata, and what type of file it is, and be able to open it as such.

One of the obvious advantages is that no matter how much your PC breaks down, you will continue to keep your files available to use wherever you want, another advantage is this, you can use your files wherever you want and a disadvantage is that if the service that offers storage In the cloud your files will disappear but no one guarantees that your internet storage will continue working for a long time, right? I think you should use both

That's the reason why I have redundant backups on different continents (America and Europe) with 2 different providers in different locations.

There's still a possibility of data loss, but doing it that way tremendously reduces any risk.

I also have a 8TB mirrored NAS at home as a failsafe.
