discuss The Lost Genres: Which Forgotten Film Style Needs a Comeback?

There are film genre that have not really been given a second chance up there, those forgotten film styles that should have been included in one's list of lost genres.

Well, I'm thinking probably of those swashbucklers adventure films, the really good ones from the 1930s and '40s. What would you pick from lost genres that haven't made a comeback?

I'd like to see restoration of sci-fi B-movie classics from the 1950s and 1960s injected back to life. It's indeed a classic and you will understand my point if you just picture the modern version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or "The War of the Worlds". It would be out of this world.

Silent film is that genre that should come again. It could be tweaked a little to form a modern silent film, with different language and story to tell.

I think film noir could make a powerful comeback. Its moody, atmospheric visuals, complex characters, and morally ambiguous plots resonate even today. A fresh take on noir could bring a rich, nostalgic yet innovative vibe to contemporary audiences.
