The Crown... that's the series that is on my watchlist. Has anyone watched it here? Feel free to share your feedback.
It's a historical drama based on true story of the British Royal family. Some stories that were in public, some half hidden and some known only to the insiders. I have not watched it but I did company my niece for some time in few episodes. She watches it religiously, she is binge watching it on every weekend. I think there are six seasons. The episodes are each of 60 minutes, so you need to have some good time at hand to watch it. And if you are someone like me with limited TV watching time, this show might take months to be completed.
But whatever little I have seen, I am impressed by the casting and the meticulous delivery. It's entire journey of Queen Elizabeth from young queen to her ripe age, with all the struggle and challenges. It does show a lot of ugly side too.
So, if you are for a slow paced historical drama based on true incidents, this might be one. But you need to have time and patience.

I have tried watching its few episodes. However, you have summed up the issue in brief:

1. Its slow paced
2. At times, its cut and dry.
3. Its 6 seasons long and each episodes too long - so its feels endless.
4. Victorian morality - who cares?

Instead, you can watch 'The Empress'. Its more fast paced

@Lord Severus . Yes, it is very slow paced and a long one, and each episode is almost an hour. The slow paced thing will not go well with many, but I am okay as long as it's well made. They are historically corect as far as we know about the things in public domain. I am yet to start watching it.
I will check " The Empress". Is it around some true story?

I am not sure if its based on a true story.

But unlike The Crown, The Empress is a colorful series that has a bright palette and is more entertaining. I understand that the entertainment value changes from people to people.
