Some Chinese are having fun making fun of it's attempt to go back to The Honeymooners or Fred Flinstone days, but are those days the answer for America's, what some say, soft society?

But is America really soft or is the fact it doesn't manufacture, really strength? Well, I can say that the whole "soft culture" doesn't have to do with the avoidance of factory work, but actually, just obligations and work, in general. For instance, look how it was tough for even fast food to hire people, and it still is.

Anyway, though I still cringe at the idea of Latino immigrants doing roofing or something, as though, American men can't do that, and I know that's not true.

I think the softness started when the US shifted away from the traditional factory work. Other people may perceive it as an economic evolution but the aftermath is what the United States is facing right now.
Why is working janitorial or fast food soft? And note they can't get enough people to do it.

Why is working janitorial or fast food soft?
I don't find it soft at all; it's actually very hard work, especially after a 9-5.

I took on the "under the table" contract-like gig janitor position at the restaurant where I worked. On top of my hourly salary, I was able to leave each night with an additional $100 cash for an extra 3 hours, and over time, 2 hours of work. That was a lot of money as a 17-year-old!
And note they can't get enough people to do it.
If you squeeze the economy enough, the positions will be filled, and wages will go up, where people will feel it's not as meanial to do anymore. There will be a surplus of wealth, and that will flood into all sorts of jobs that were once low-paid. Also, it will give the opportunity for janitors to form their own company that takes contracts from local businesses where they can show up, do their job, and leave a clean place behind.

Who actually pays the tariff? Well, the common people. So, with tariff as high as 245 percent on Chinese goods, common Americans will suffer with increase on the price of essential items. I don't see how this is going to rebuild America? Trump wants manufacturing to come to America but it will many years to happen that.
