What applications do you use to take notes?

I use the Microsoft Notes application. While in class, I switch on the dictate mode so that whatever is being taught in class is automatically transmitted to the screen as text though their speech-to-text engine.

I intervene in places where I have to add an image or a table for my own understanding and ease of comprehension.

What are the ideas that you use? What other apps do you use for note making?

I frequently use Evernote since it allows notes storage across every device I have. The speech-to-text capability of this software makes it even a better choice for me.
I love Evernote also. But the problem I am facing is that Evernote is a paid app and the full version on MacBook is quite expensive as far as I am concerned.

Its a great note making tool mainly because they are customisation option which are so conspicuously absent in the Microsoft Notes application.

Do you use the free version or the paid version?

Did you mean Notepad?

But, how do you format the notes and know what is being kept where?
Yes, it's what I meant.

It's not possible to format Notepad because it lacks the features for you to do so but you can use Microsoft OneNote (Notebook) for the same purpose if you want to be able to format your notes.

Note Taking through an organized method is something I strongly believe in. I like the digital tool that enables me to manage notebooks with sections which will to help me maintain organized search in my notes.
I totally agree with you. The ability to make tables, charts, highlighting the text and everything has worked out really well. Here is a glimpse of my notes on stock market which I made while listening to a stock market class.

I did all these within the same video, listening to it at 1x (normal speed). I frequently refer back to these notes.

This is a snapshot of notes made through Microsoft notes.

I use technology for my note-taking approach. I also use the traditional paper notes for specific purposes. I also review my notes regularly and it allows me to easily locate important information any time I need them.
When you write things down, it's because they are very important to you and you want to easily remember them. However you choose to keep that record is fine as long as it grants you access to the information when you want it.
