I agree with you. I watch this film every year. The suffering, the agony the betrayal and the crucifixion would make one cry. The off screen incidents when it was being filmed made it even more emotional for me. Jim Caviezel who played Jesus had to go through a lot of mishaps.
I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard The Notebook is a sad movie.
Don't know about The Notebook but another sad movie that I can recommend is Dancer in the Dark. Even the thoughts about the movie makes me sad. This is a movie by Lars von Trier (director of AntiChrist) featuring Icelandic singer Björk
