Nintendo switch is the better handleheld console. It has more exclusive games and better battery life.
Both provides convenience and portability. But in terms of collection of games and versatility, Steam Deck has an edge over Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch is, however, great for Nintendo exclusive titles.
According to a quick Google search, you can play 15,000+ games on the Steam Deck, so that's quite the variety. There's 11,000+ for Nintendo Switch, which is much more than I expected.
I have never used hand held consoles and I will probably never use them. I am more into PC gaming. Never been a fan of mobile gaming.
Mobile platforms like the Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch are for a different category of gamers. I like the idea of carrying a handheld, table-top Steam Deck to enjoy the games but I think it's not for all.
What do you mean by different categories of gamers? By the way, have you used them, how do you compare them with mobile devices?
