fitness Rest Days

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
I take rest days more often than most people tend to see. I have always been someone who likes to keep myself busy and also active but unfortunately, my health has other ideas.

I have fibromyalgia and some days I can feel like I can tackle anything, what we call good days, usually after a good day and doing as much as I can, it hits the following day and it can last for days sometimes meaning I have to take days to rest. I never learn though and when I have that good day again, I repeat.

I guess that is why I get called stubborn by my boyfriend, because I don't listen and then end up down and out for a few days.

The more I age, the more I need a rest day here and there.

In my 30s, I was aging and doing well. I felt like I was getting stronger and better able to keep pushing it. Then a mix of COVID getting me a few times and turning 40 has made me down a lot easier.

I keep waiting until I reach a certain point in my fitness where I snap out of this thing, LOL.

I don't think that point is going to come to me.

Maybe it's because of my lifestyle, I am well above 40 and I don't feel that I'm aging at all. I'm still bouncing and doing just fine like a 20 year old guy. 🤣 However, resting is very important and it is not just a physical thing but it is mentally involved too. We must dedicate time to recharge and relax to enhance our productivity.

Maybe so.

I partied really hard in my teens and 20s, gained a bunch of weight, and didn't do anything healthy to my body.

I'm different today but I might still be feeling it from past abuse?
