I have been reading this book titled 'Our Final Invention' By James Barrat.
The book explains that the incremental progress we make in the field of artificial intelligence will lead to artificial intelligence mimicking the human intelligence which will then lead to super intelligence. Once in super intelligence, we will be unable to shut down the system because it will be self aware, self improving, resource consuming and seeking to remain here forever - a scenario called 'singularity' in which humans will share the planet with super intelligence.
Its a just, to me atleast, a book of unverified prophecies and dont give much importance to it.
