How do you all feel about open-source intelligence (OSINT)?

The jest of it is that intelligence can be collected through public domain and open internet inputs. However, some ethical means of OSINT analysis can also be done using social media when logged in or the deep web and sometimes the dark web.

OSINT allows anyone to basically perform a background search on anyone as long as that person has a public domain footprint.

How do you feel about OSINT? Do you think it's ethical and fair or is it an invasion of privacy?

I love OSINT because it's a valuable tool for research and investigation. Above all, it's good for security purposes but my major concern is the privacy. Quite a lot of people share information online increasingly and it's a great concern.

It's a good thing honestly. If people are doing things that they shouldn't be doing, then they should be investigated.
