Safety is very important in today’s digital age. There are lots of scandalous activities here and there. So, it's time to beef up our securities, especially if we use online for financial transactions. I've got some basic tips to share with you.

1). Use strong passwords for all your accounts and always keep software updated.

2). Don't just click on links without having to do adequate research.

What online safety tips do you adopt?

The password manager I used is from the browser, but I don't know how safe it is. Can anyone tell me about it?
If you're using Chrome, it's only as safe as your computer username's password as I believe it's encrypted with that — at least I think so, as if I try to view my passwords from the password manager, it prompts me for my Windows username's password, which is strong, but somehow I managed to memorize it.

The most important thing is do not share personal information. You will be easy target of scammers. Do not share too many pictures, your pictures will be abused. Do not use the same password for multiple websites

What I do to keep myself and data safe online is refraining from connecting to unprotected or unknown Wi-Fi networks. Also, I make sure to keep updating my operating systems and that helps in shielding away from cyber threats.

I always use password managers and I use a very strong password. I don't use easily predictable passwords. The password manager I used is from the browser, but I don't know how safe it is. Can anyone tell me about it?
Your passwords are safe as long as the password for your password manager is safe. Enabling multi-factor authentication for your password manager will guarantee your online safety. You will need other things apart from password to unlock your password manager, e.g. facial recognition, fingerprint, a code sent to a mobile authenticator app, or a hardware security key. I use a payment gateway that requires a code sent to a mobile authetication app in addition to my password. One of my main bank accounts also requires a token from a hardware device for completion of transactions.

Use 2fa on all the sites that are important, especially with your phone number, so that you can prevent unauthorized access.

Enabling passkeys is also another good idea.

I have heard a lot about using passkeys but never used it for even once. Using 2FA either with my phone number or Google authenticator app have been very easy and more convenient.

Pshing links are very dangerous. Even if it's a link from your friends, don't click on them until you've verified from them what the link is all about. If it doesn't convince you, better stay away from it.
