Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
I’ve noticed that a lot of modern directors, especially in mainstream horror, seem to struggle with really capturing what makes a movie scary. It feels like the art of truly terrifying people is fading away, and movies just aren’t as frightening as they used to be.

Take Night Swim, for instance. The concept caught my attention, the technical work is solid, and the cast does a good job, but it still didn’t leave a strong impression on me. I think the problem lies in the direction. It felt amateurish and completely missed the mark on how to handle the core idea and really make the audience feel that fear.

What surprised me even more is that James Wan, a big name in horror, is one of the producers, along with Jason Blum, who’s also pretty well-known among fans.

It is a very scary movie and it has a good storyline too. This movie could make you cry. I don't ever imagine crying in a horror film. Everything in the film seems so real. It is also filled with some funny moments too. There is no way you wouldn't laugh. The comedy characters are so funny 🤣. Watching what McGuire was able to build in one hour and 36 minutes was just too impressive.

I also liked the element of surprise in the movie . It was quite interesting. There is a lot of suspense here but the story is full of drama and it's emotional too. I haven't watched the second time but I might rewatch again whenever I'm less busy. It's a good movie.

It might not be a very scary movie like other horror genre, but Night Swim does so much more because it’s intriguing. I will encourage you to go see it for yourself. It's truly genre bending. It is like a combination of horror and suspense, thrillers, drama, name it. It's a very unique movie. I have never witnessed anything like that.
