discuss Movies vs. Books: Which Is Better?

This is a thread to discuss anything related to movies.
Though watching a movie is fun but I doubt it can ever beat the book. There are so many things they tend to cut out when adapting the movies from the book.

That's it for it when it comes to books. Books are able to cover more grounds in storytelling, unlike what we see with books that don't cut it for me as I would wish for.

I have both read books and also watched movies based on the books and even though movies do offer more visually when it comes to the story, books tend to offer more which I find helps tell the story better.

I tend to always read the books and watch the movies if those are available as it means I get two perspectives of the storyline.

This is not a fair comparison. They are entirely different mediums. Books give you a greater insight into the minds of a character, and require imagination to enjoy. This is the issue with society. We are losing our ability to imagine. Imagination is creativity. That starts with reading books. There are so many kids these days who have never read a book. They have never formed pictures in their mind. They are reliant on having those images created for them. The impact on the human race of the demise of reading cannot be underestimated.
