Have you ever thought how would the audience react if the movies shown in theatres started showing ads in between? Do you think that people would still go to theatres to watch the movies? I think it would highly be annoying and I would probably lose interest sooner or later.

It is going to be so frustrating when you can't skip ads and cinemas are one of the few places where you can't skip ads. You just have to keep watching unlike TV or when you’re watching online. If ads are continuously popping up, it’ll disrupt the experience people paid for.
In our country, theaters show ads before the movie and in the middle of move. These ads typically run for 5-10 minutes.
I would welcome ads in the middle of some movies, especially long ones, if that's what it would take for them to have an intermission.
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is nearly 3 hours long. It's a hard sit-through, especially with a large soda, speaking from experience. But you can't skip a beat of the movie by taking a bathroom break, or you might miss an important scene.
So, why not? Roll ads for 10-15 minutes for movies over a certain length; I won't be around to see them.
