This works both ways, movies get inspired by a tv show or vice versa. However, then I feel audience may be up to criticism and comparison. As a movie/serial producer, would you like to adopt yours from the other? Which TV show you know has been adopted from a movie?

I think the most important thing to consider when adapting from either a movie to TV show or TV show to a movie would be to make sure you stick to the originality of the story and develop it from there.
