I honestly think Lionel Messi edges out Ronaldo in a lot of key areas. Ronaldo is an incredible goal scorer, but Messi is both a scorer and a playmaker. Also Messi has more international trophies now , including the historic World Cup in 2022 which really sets him apart.

To everyone using international trophies to rate Messi over Ronaldo, I would say that it is not a completely true assessment. Being able to win trophies is a function of the team you are playing in.

To everyone, their opinions. I would rather have a prime Ronaldo in my team than a prime Messi.
