I've been taking a couple of guitar lessons here and there over the past year or so, as guitar is always an instrument I'd love to be able to play, but always one that has evaded me and seemed so complicated.

I probably didn't go about the process of learning very conventionally, as I had about ten "professional" lessons of about 90 mins each, spread over the course of a year, and just played myself for about an hour or so a week repeating whatever I'd learnt in the lesson. For added lols... it took me five professional lessons to learn three chords. :ROFLMAO:

I am now nowhere near a "guitar player", but I can play three or four different songs with only the very occasional small mistake... so I'm quite happy with my progress at least. :)

Anybody else play guitar or ever considered taking lessons? Interested to hear your musical guitar experience!

When I was in college, I tried learning guitar. After 4 weeks class, I understood guitar was not for me even though I had a deep interest in learning. My failure to learn guitar taught me one important lesson in life, having interest in something and having actual capabilities to learn it are totally different thing.

As I said, I had always wanted to learn the guitar, but always thought it'd be way too difficult for me to grasp. As I also said, I'm by no means very good at all even now, and can only play a few basic tunes, but it does feel really good to be able to at least play a few things, and I'm sure my skills will slowly continue to develop and allow me to play a few more things over time.
