discuss Is sex the greatest activity that strengthens the bond in a relationship?

I have a friend who has sexual intimacy with his partner every other day. They are my next door neighbours so I get to hear. I asked the guy why it is so. He said that the more sex they had, the stronger their bond grew stronger.

That's why I am asking if sexual intimacy is the ultimate activity that people in romantic relationships can do to strengthen their bonds?

While I agree that sex really builds strong bonds in relationships, I think the presence of quality time is the greatest factor that builds the bond in relationships. If you like, have sex twice a day and you don't have quality time, you guys would still be distant to each other.

But there are some other things that come into play like sharing the same values and being compassionate to one another. Those are even more important than sex relationships.
