If someone is dating one person and meets two, three other nice people and decides to date each one of them, is that considered cheating? If you aren't committed to the first person, is there a need to let him/her know that you are dating others? How do you see this?

You have to disentangle from one person that you are currently dating before you begin a new relationship. Dating more than one person at the same time is cheating. It doesn't matter whether you are committed or not. The person might be investing everything in you and you have moved on from them to another person. That's wicked. Break up formally from your current relationship before you start out with another person.

If you are dating more than one person at the same time, unless each person knows about it and is happy about it, then I would say that is cheating.
I would never agree with being in a relationship with someone who was in a relationship with others; that to me is cheating.

If there's no clear commitment yet, i wouldn't call it cheating but honesty still matters.

For me that would be cheating. You don't date random person, when you decide to date someone you are probably thinking about a relationship and when you are already thinking about commitment how can you date another person. If you date multiple person, you are cheater.
It has to do with the agreement of both partners. If they both agree to be seeing other people in their relationship, then it's not cheating. Otherwise, it is going to be unfair.

I don’t consider dating multiple people cheating if everyone involved knows and consents, like openly discussing it during coffee dates. It becomes cheating when there’s deception, like hiding other partners, breaking trust in exclusive agreements. Dating and being in relationship are two different things.
If you aren't committed to the first person whom you're dating, why still be in the relationship only to meet other new people (more than one person) and start dating all of them at once?

Dating multiple people isn’t cheating if everyone involved knows and agrees. However, if sex is involved, it is certainly cheating. Without that transparency, it can hurt feelings and trust, which is where cheating comes in.
What is the purpose of dating, to be in a relationship, right? When you are dating multiple people, what exactly are you looking for, to be in relationship with multiple people, to have physical relationship with multiple people?
They always say that they date multiple people to ascertain the right person to start a relationship with. The key in all of this is being transparent. Let the other persons that you are dating know that it is not exclusive yet.
I don't believe that I even have the energy to date more than one person at the same time. It might look easier for others but it takes a whole lot from me to be able to date more than one person at a given time.
Would you date a person knowing they are also dating other people. Would you like be a part of "an experiment with finding right candidate?" Just curious.
I see it as a waste of time. To be able to communicate better with all of them is not even what I can think of. Personally, it is just useless for me to be in a relationship with more than one person.
