other Is CGI a double-edged sword in the film industry, and why?

To be honest with you, I'll agree that it has really changed the movie making process, bringing the impossible or imagination to reality in filmmaking. But we know that it has also caused a flood of excessive use of special effects for scenes, which has overshadowed the narrative aspects in most cases.
 
The CGI, I think has revolutionize filmmaking. But it has enabled filmmakers to take the shots to the extreme in order to take the movies to different realms entirely. CGI certainly kills creativity to a certain aspects. I would say that it is not a substitute for good storytelling but when done right, could take a movie to another level.
