I frequently encounter difficulties when considering this matter as someone who enjoys music so much. People often ask whether musicians' questionable behavior or personal problems lead to an automatic reduction in the quality of their music or reduce their audience.

I don't worry about the character of artists and it does affect my listening experience. I continue listening to musicians even though they have committed errors or promote what I don't believe.

Generally, R Kelly and Diddy have been adjudged to be terrible people. But would that make me to stop listening to a great song like "I believe I can fly *? Or Diddy's Coming Home? Certainly not. I listen to great music not minding the personality of the artist.
He's going to sing "I believe I can Fly" in prison, I'm sure. :D

Kanye West has done some questionable things recently, but I'll still throw on Graduation and listen to it. I don't think that if he came out with Graduation today that I'd give it the time of day, though.

It's hard to be principled when you fell in love with music before something happened, as hinted by @Kross. Having said that, I can relate to what they said about Diddy, and I'll still listen to Coming Home.
