off-topic How long do you usually stay awake?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
I'm usually up by 0900 and in bed by 0200, but I have a 1½ to 2 hour nap starting around 1500.

So I'd say closer to 16 hours if you exclude the nap. :-P

My sleep schedule gets all kinds of messed up in November when the States set their clock back until March. However, The Sunshine Protection Act unanimously passed in the Senate in 2022, so I'm hopeful that this will be the last year it's Spring forward/Fall back.

It used to be about 16 hours, but now it is up to 18 because I am working on launching a new venture. I have to work my regular job and then work on that in the evenings. This means I am awake for more hours these days that I used to be in the past.

Having a 7 hour sleep is fair. It is enough time that your body can use to enjoy sleep and I am very much okay with sleeping for that period of time too.
7 hours of sleep is balanced and the last time I checked, it is within the recommended range for most adults and that is enough to help our physical and mentor restoration.

It is recommended by doctors and the like, but generally you can get by with 6 hours. However, to feel well rested and energized 8-10 hours is the best.

Especially if you're able to get that much rest.
