Would be you be open to agreeing in a no sex in a relationship with a lady you want to date? I've seen some people accepting such but I can't. Sex is a food of the body fueled by emotions. I can never be in a relationship with a lady I won't make love with. It's part of what makes the bond with my partner strong.

A relationship may start off highly intense, and dwindle, but the bonds you created up until that point should outweigh sex.

As for the wedding vows, if not taken lightly, you should ask yourself before marriage if sex is that important to you for the duration till death. There could be instances when a partner can no longer perform such as with cancers, erectile dysfunction, female sexual arousal disorder, etc. Are you going to throw those vows, and time spent together, all away because sexual intimacy is no longer possible?

True intimacy transcends sex but it doesn't mean sex isn't going to be part of the relationship. I've seen some married couple whom their relationship broke down because one person wasn't forthcoming in playing that role of sex with their partner. They always make excuses why they can't do it until things get out of hands.

I agree, @Ja sa bong. I see this thing where people are married and choosing monogamy but sex with withheld yet the person cannot get sex anywhere else. That is just a recipe for the end of a relationship. I'm fortunate, because even when she was menopausal, Michelle was still my lover.

I don't subscribe to sex with friends and regular sex is linked to lower divorce rates among married couples. But she told me she doesn't do sex before marriage. My interest in her just died down. I am struggling to even check up on her. For me, sex is very important in a relationship.
