fitness How do you quit sweets?

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
This is something I like to be answered too. Not that I cannot drop sweets out of my life if I set my mind to it, however, I feel with age, the willpower is diminishing and I end up postponing things. I too need to stop having sweets, and this is my daily thought, however, I am unable to put it into action. But I had done it in the past, simply by being mindful and having small frequent meals that kept me fuller and which stopped the cravings for sweets. In fact, green tea helps the best. You should try it too.

I don't really have any advice for cutting sweets other than having self-control over what you eat.

I don't have an addictive personality and can quit most things on the spot. Sure, I'll grab some Reese's Pieces sometimes at the register, but it's very rare, and typically when they're half off. I'll probably consume the equivalent of that amount of sweets in a month, if we discard natural sweets like apples, etc.; have you tried to reduce your cravings for sweets by getting some grapes or something instead?

I love sweets but I should cut them out of my life.

When I quit smoking, I really started enjoying them more because I can actually taste them now.

How have you cut out sweets? What hacks could I incorporate into my life?
I love sweets as well, but now I can look at them when I go to the store and not buy them. I'll buy something else instead. I eat sweets now maybe 2-7 times a month where before, I'd eat them a lot more.

Especially considering the price of sweets now, I can be quite cheap when it pertains to snacks and the likes. i remember when you could get candy for like $1-$2, but now they're somewhat more expensive. I'd rather keep my few bucks instead. I've also noticed that buying a pack of gum or jolly ranchers instead of small things of candy can last me a few days.

I know that jolly ranchers are sweets, but they'll help you break a sweets habit if you have them. You won't crave other sweets so much if you have a jolly rancher or two per day, then stop.

I donot have a sweet tooth anyway. However, I find that its very difficult for everyone having one to stop sweet cravings.

The best idea would be to start with artificial sweeteners (its not good for health, so it comes with disclaimer).

Additionally, you could also stop taking tea and coffee and switch to green tea so that sugar can be cut down without compromising on the tea/coffee habbit.

Sweets and coffee are my only weakness addiction-wise.

Of course, I've cut down on coffee over the years, but I have to have at least a cup each day unless I'm sick. The GERD flareups will make me stay away from coffee every now and then.

I don't eat a lot of sweets. It's not threatening my health, but I'm sure I eat more than I should.

I did find some Ginger candy though. Not really that bad for you and a couple satisfies me. Also good for the stomach.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge sweet lover, but I do like to have sweets occasionally. With how often I have them, cutting them out of my life is not something I feel I should do. I can understand why those who tend to eat a lot would need to try to cut them out to a certain extent or even altogether.
yes long ago a loved sweets but I had to cut out eating sweets because my dentist advices me so

I find dentists are usually strict when it comes to sweets. I always say if you enjoy them, enjoy them in moderation but going over the top would definitely cause issues with your teeth.

I didn't take care of my teeth when I was a kid. I wasn't forced to either so it never became habitual.

As a result, I had horrible teeth. Had is the keyword.

Got dentures in my 30s. At least in terms of tooth health, I can eat all the sweets I want haha
