off-topic How do you prioritize self-care on a busy schedule?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
Life is incredibly busy and now many people are having a really harder time dealing with self-care and professional life as well, as maintaining balance between the two is becoming impossible due to busy schedule. This is why I prioritize passive income opportunities.

By saying no.

Last year about this time, I was doing so much that stress was giving me stomach problems.

Then for the start of 2025, I decided to start saying no more often. I also quit doing a lot of projects that were not getting me any results. It was time to start focusing more on me, my close family, and my future.

It's hard to say no but once you break the seal, it's easier to stick with saying it.

You made a great choice. The reality is that should you fall seriously ill, some of those projects will be executed without you being involved. For that reason, I don't see how it is wise to keep accepting projects that will harm you in any way.

And some projects and deals might not seem harmful. They might even seem profitable. However, you need to predict the outcome of them and how taxing it will be on your work-life balance, family life, and free time.

I used to say yes so much that I didn't have time to do fitness and take care of myself.

That's not good. Nothing is worth doing that.

I have always been someone who gets busy and forgets to make sure I spend some time on self-care, and that has in the past lead me to burnout.

I find now that I have a to-do list set, and once I have completed all of the tasks I have set myself to do, then it is time for me to focus on self-care, whether that be heading out for a walk, playing my favourite game, or watching my favourite movie or TV series.
