off-topic How do you navigate a career change?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
The fundamental approach I use to change my career is to focus on research. Online courses and workshops became the main sources through which I gained knowledge about my targeted profession. During my career transformation, I built relationships within my industry then requested guidance from these contacts. This experience helped my personal growth and gives me the right direction.

Engaging in working in your target field helps you to acquire the practical knowledge along with building connections while letting you assess whether it's the right job for you or not. With this, the transition becomes less risky because it lets you collect better information about your new profession.

When you are able to choose the career you want to get into. it is to do your research and find out what will work for you
I would also say that you should try to get a free internship (essentially volunteer) in any field you think you might want to do too. This will not only give you the practical skills to actually hop ship when the time comes, but more so tell you if it's even something that you would even like to do.

I have never changed my career. I started writing when In was still in college and I still make money as a writer. However, writing wasn't sufficient for me to earn a living therefore, along with writing I started also doing a lot of things. I did not change my career, I expanded it.
