off-topic How do you handle your anger?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
I am not very good at handling my anger. I have been dealing with anger management issues since I was a teen. Because of my anger, I have had strained relationship with a lot of people

It is a step at a time, but I believe that the first step is that you've realised that you are one with this issue and working on it will surely be in the best interests of those around you as well.

Realizing something does not help you to amend it, especially dealing with emotions. Emotions are hard to control. For example, if you hear something funny, it will be really hard to control your anger, you will rarely judge where you are. Getting angry comes naturally, when you are emotionally changed, it is not possible not to be affected.

I am improving in my anger management. I used to lose control so much when I got angry. But as I am growing, I talk to myself everyday before I step out that I would need to stay calm all through the day regardless of whatever happens. I get angry though at times but I am able to tame myself more. I have not had anger outbursts lately.

I take a step back and access the situation critically, practice deep breathing and do some exercise to curtail my anger.

Anyone who can be able to step back when they are angry is a nice person. It is a way that you show that love for humanity and the need to always find a peaceful way to resolve those conflicts.

I generally listen to music or go for a walk when I'm mad. I don't get angry that much anymore as I know how to handle my anger, however, I didn't know how to years ago. Therapy helped me a lot with my anger.
Music is one of the best therapy you can think of in this life which we get for free. It can do so much which it doesn't get enough credit for. I do exactly the same thing which you do when I'm pissed off.
