off-topic How do you deal with annoying neighbors?

Living with annoying neighbors will stress you out and drive you crazy. I too have bad experiences with my former neighbour. His radio is always on the highest volume and don't let me start with those annoying pet sounds. I had to figure a way to get through the struggles.

I generally try to let my neighbors know when they are disturbing but I do it politely. Sometimes they don't even know how far they are affecting. I just believe that open communication is your answer to most things.

I have learned the hard way on how to take care of my own space and sanity. Sometimes I use the earplugs or headphones to block out everything coming from the neighbours apartment. What has worked best for me in dealing with annoying neighbors is to find a way to ignore the situation.

I have been very lucky so far that I have always got good helpful and polite neighbours. Even during my stay in other countries as an expat, I was blessed with a good neighborhood and friendly neighbours.

I have determined by myself that I would build effective coping mechanisms to help me live and relate peaceably with any person. My own neighbours moan like cows when having sex. And that can be quite disturbing. And they can have sex three times a day. I just turn on my music when they are at it.

I would try to report such a neighbor to the caretaker or landlord of the compound. If it doesn't yield any positive result, I would ask for a refund of my rent and leave the compound. I can't cope with such irresponsible neighbours that would play loud music and disturb others.

I have my own fair share of irritating attitudes from neighbors but I was able to solve It by having an honest communication about it and stating the reasons why their actions are making me uncomfortable. I was happy we were able to solve that problem amicably.

Try to remain calm, even if the behavior of your neighbor is frustrating. if you feel comfortable, consider having a polite conversation with your neighbor.Clearly communicate what behaviors you find unacceptable.

We stay in an apartment and residents here are very civilized, friendly and sober. Staying in an apartment like ours comes with a great advantage. We have a resident association that is democratically elected through voting from the residents. We have rules puy out there that has to be followed by all residents. This includes the civic responsibilities. People have been considerate so far. Nothing ugly has happened so far and I am here since the last 10 years. If we find some inconvenience, we can talk to our neighbors or just give a call to association. They handle it very politely. Fortunate to have such nice community here.
