Today (July 10) is being marked as the "Day of Guru" in Hindu culture. These days, they translate Guru as teacher, however, Sanskrit word guru is more than a teacher. The Day of Guru is also translated as teacher's day in our culture and it is celebrated with much fanfare, especially, in educational institutions. Those who are no longer students also take time to visit their teachers and gurus.

Have you ever honored your teachers? Are you grateful to your teachers?

Just like @Fidelia1 points out, they are the people that built our base.

For me, I owe everything I am todya to my teachers because my parents could not be with me during my schooling years due to some personal reasons and my teachers were like my mother and father to me.

I honor them by always being available to them. I answer all their calls at all times of the day and make sure that I help them as much as I can.

I'm going back to the States for my 20th high school reunion this week.

I didn't ask the organizers of the event, but I sure hope we have some of our past teachers as distinguished guests.
Are you still in touch with your high school friends? Do you communicate frequently?
Well, I am in touch with a few and we communicate through social media. One of the reasons why I started using Facebook was my friends in the US wanted me to connect through social media.

I'm still in touch with a couple of friends, but we haven't communicated since high school. We'll chat maybe once every few months or so just to catch up.

A lot are ditching social media, so it makes it harder to get in contact. I'll usually revert to a phone call now because it's so hard to get hold of someone over social media these days.
