im new here. just joined because i was bored. anyone here like tinkering with old phones?

i really want a phone with android 2.3 because it would be cool for my collection. i also collect old laptops and retro video games

I have a collection of Android phones going back to 2011ish, having upgraded year after year, sometimes twice in a year, until finding the Samsung S series, which I now just trade in for the latest version.

However, I'm "stuck" on the S23 Ultra because my phone plan is grandfathered to have unlimited data with unlimited Wi-Fi sharing. If I merely traded up this time, I'd have to get the unlimited plan with a cap of 25gb shared Wi-Fi. As there aren't any bells and whistles I need of yet, I'm saving the full purchase price for either the S26 or S27, provided they give me more, so that I can buy the phone outright and, best of all, keep my grandfathered plan as the unlimited Wi-Fi is essentially a "home internet" plan anywhere we travel.

I might have a box of phones with somewhere near 12 of them.
