game Have you ever built your own gaming PC?

For threads discussing games on PC, consoles, or other platforms.
I don't want to go through the stress of building a gaming PC as it can be very daunting. Of course, it can be cheaper but I don't think I have the patience. My friends built hers for around $800 last year and that's a steal.
I know a guy called Ford who does it for fun. He's also a forum owner. The last gaming PC I saw him built looked fantastic. I wish it's something I would be able to do.

My second PC was a custom built gaming machine, with at the time a top of the line Radeon card, before they were AMD, and a dual-core 1-1.2 GHz AMD chip pushing 4 GB RAM. That's how long ago it's been since I've had a PC.

Though, it got my frame rate up to, I believe 24 fps, smoothly, in Counter-Strike.

I'm sure my current Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has more processing power than that did. 🤣

I haven't got any knowledge of how to build a gaming PC. The last time I asked someone who did what it might cost to build one, he told me it's going cost $700 to build a decent gaming PC.

If you have ever built a gaming PC, how much did it cost you?
Did you miss one zero? I do not think you can actually build a decent gaming PC with just $700. I have no skills to do it myself but when I hired someone to do it for me I had to spend $4000 for a custom built gaming PC and it is not even "great"

I would love to build my own gaming pc but I lack the expertise. Of course, it's very economical and you can build according to the required specs. A member on a game forum built a computer that is mainly focused on 4K gaming for around $1,200. That's a bit reasonable!
Probably with the minimum specs required to run a game and a not-so-fancy case.

I'd like to know the specs on that myself...

You can build a decent gaming/productivity PC for about $800 if you know where to look, are patient about waiting around for deals, and do not have to use bleeding-edge or current gen hardware. However, you can spec a very decent gaming machine with current gen hardware for around $1200,again, if you know where to look.
