Have you ever thought about, or possibly even actually built, your own game?

Whether it was a basic game played on your local PC, or a browser-based game or even a game app, share your experience here!

Even if you perhaps haven't built a game but have thought about it, what would be your idea? What world would your game exist in, and what would be the ultimate game goal?

I built some games on my TI-86 calculator, but that's as far as I went with "graphical games" before I turned to text-based games on the same device.

It wasn't as fun to build and play a text-based game on the TI-86 because I knew the outcome of each action, and that's about when I got into building my first web-based multi-player online text-based game.

I have never built a game mainly because I dont have the skill or the talent that is required for it.

However, I do have a friend who works as a game tester in Roblox.

From what I know, according to him, games have very strict regulations about explicit content, exposure to blood and blood stains, violence and racism and all those. Hence, it is not easy to get a game certified for children and other similar audiences.

I had never thought about it. Game development is very demanding like any kind of software development. And building a game requires the knowledge of some programming languages. Even using a game engine to build a game is still not easy.
I know that anything is possible and easy for those who are skilled in the field of doing so. The same thing is applicable in the video game's industry. If you're trained in it, I'm quite sure it will be easy to do.

I’ve never tried to make a game before, and I’m not sure I have the skills to do it. But if I ever decide to create one, it would definitely be a horror game because I really enjoy that genre. Hehe
What are the kind of features which might be added to any horror game that you're going build should that day finally come? Do you have any particular virtue game which you're going look at copying?

I know it's possible to do it with Roblox but I never gave it a trail. I don't play on the platform very often which is why giving it any thought to build a game never crossed my mind.
There's actually a few videos that teach you how to build a roblox game incase you ever decide to make one. I know there's a lot of roblox developers that make thousands of dollars a month from their games.

I haven't built a game because I don't have the technical know-how but I have intentions to dabble into game development by acquiring some skills especially in programming. I have intentions to build a simple text based game using python which would allow the player to navigate through fantasy worlds and solve puzzles. Isn't that a great idea?
