It is very important to treat anyone that you are going into a relationship with better and even when it doesn't work out as you would expect, you have to be less assured that you did build a good foundation that they are going to follow.

I have been told in the past that I was someone's first love but whether or not that was the truth, I have no clue. I am no longer with that person, so I guess we will never know.

I would imagine it would be a difficult position to be in if that relationship ended for whatever reason, especially if you were truly their first love.
