Gaming becomes fun only when you get familiar with it. You can follow storylines, understand the controls and can navigate your way around easily. This increases the speed, accuracy and precision of your controls which gives confidence to the gamer. When you are confident, you can enjoy the game to the fullest. When you are starting out though, would you rather have tutorials to familiarize yourself around, or go in blinded and navigate your own path?

What I normally do is visit YouTube for some guidelines videos that are going to help me along the line. It is what it is as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't want to play any game without understanding the basics.
If I'm playing a game for the first time, I go through the tutorial to guide me on how to play. It is illogical to just jump into the game without even knowing the bas

Errm, am I the only person here not taking games very seriously?

For me, I usually run through the tutorial and never even pay attention.

For me, the adrenaline punch about the game is when I can play it, without knowing a thing about it and then finding for myself what I can do and what I cannot do. You may fail once or twice in the game, but at the end, its just about trying again.

Moreover, its just a game.

You would not believe the number of times I have jumped into a game and thought skipping the tutorial would be a good idea, and then, when I get into the game, I have no clue what I am doing.

I have learned the hard way that if I am playing a new game that is very much new to me and one that I do not have help with from friends and family, I should probably take the time to play through the tutorial so I have an idea of what is going on and how things work.

I think some games need tutorials, for instance, if you are playing strategy games for the first time, you certainly need tutorials. Some games don't need tutorials, for instance simulation games.

I have played some strategy games without watching their tutorials and it is because I wanted to feel at home learning it by myself. This doesn't mean that learning the tutorials of such games won't make playing it much easier for you.

It depends on what type of games I play. If its new and hard with lots of option then have to know thing by tutorials. Without it not easy to play or I will get confused.
