other Forums

For topics that don’t fit into other categories but still relate to hobbies and interests.
What are the things you hate on your forum? Are they still existing? Haven't you monetized them?
Forums are just a hobby for me, so mine are not monetized.

I might make a premium member plan on a few of them for those who want to support the hosting bill.

I hate the rivalry between the software and when people hate software because they're fanboys of another. Of course, I hate the spam. I hate all the AI being used instead of true voices. The common negative stuff.

Who here runs forums?

What kind of forum do you have? How long have you been into forums?
running forums are one of my favorite hobbies.

I’ve been running forums since I was 15-16 years old. I own a Virtual pets forum. I also ran a off topic/general forum in the past along with an admin forum in the past.

I used to have a forum that I owned from 2009 - 2017, it was a general chat forum that I had managed to make successful and was proud of. In early 2017 the hosting I was using had an increase in price and I had to make the tough decision to close at the time, I also wanted to try another path at the time in video game content creation. I'd made a backup but a few years later, had a hard drive failure and lost the backup, I was gutted.

I now co-own a forum with my boyfriend and I help run another forum at the moment and I am quite happy doing that right now.

You're one of my oldest forum friends, actually. I remember you more than most people in the forum world!

It’s been an interesting journey! I can’t believe how long we’ve been doing this!
It still feels like yesterday since we both started.
Daniel is my other buddy that I’ve been friends with for many years now.

We’ve both grown up on forums.😃

I wonder what ever happened to Brandon Sheley though.

Did you know that if you own a forum (or blog), you can display your website link in your signature for members and guests to see once per thread? You can grab Signature Pro from the LOL Shop for 𝕷1,500 LOL Coins!

There's only one left in stock, and we're unsure if we'll restock it anytime soon—want to be the one to claim it before it's gone?

That is a name I don't see anymore! What forum did he run? I can't remember.

I also miss Lisa from TAZ, I'm friends with her husband on Facebook. I recently contacted him. He said she's all good but publishing books now.
He was the original owner of Admin Talk and also owned General-talk.org at one point.

General-talk is now apart of “peak forum”. Ford actually purchased the forum from Brandon.

I have his linkedin, but not his facebook account anymore(https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandon...re_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=ios_app)

I don't own a forum. I made a previous attempt, but a busy work and school schedule got in the way. Hehe
You can always take it slow and make 1 post a day. Maybe even one a week, if it's good enough content.

People will come. And maybe, it could turn from a hobby into a job.

Slow progress is better than no progress at all. You should launch one again. There are various forum owners around that can help you seed the new forum as well.

I used to have three forums, but now I dont have any.

I have largely retired from the field of owning one, but I am active on many forums. Foruming is in my blood, but my time is past the idea of ownership.
How long did you manage your forums? What niche were they in? What made you stop running them? Did you sell them or just close them for good?
