My area (Southern Illinois) recently got rainfall of upwards of about 15 to 20 inches in just a few days along with powerful tornadoes that have done some damage in the area.
I work on the Ohio River which is set to crest at about 50 feet which is right below major flood stage. It might rise above. They've closed our facility to the public but some of us have to keep working but now they're building a rock levee for us to walk on across the parking lot as it begins to flood. We're literally right on the river.
I'm lucky to live in the hills north of town so we're safe from flooding but the roads around town are not so safe, it's definitely been a historical event!
Anyone else in an area where major flooding is occurring?
