How do you all feel about doping in professional sports?

Do you think we take it too far with banning people from sports? Do you think doping is something athletes should have the right to do if they want to for performance?

I remember watching the Tour de France once and the speaker saying that they couldn't put a certain kind of wound spray on riders who wrecked because the spray has steroids in it. IMO, that's taking this thing a little too far or are they right?

What do you all think?

Doping in professional sports poses a controversial issue. On one end, it's crucial to keep high standards in terms of integrity and fair play among athletes. Doping would yield very unfair advantages and competitions will probably lose their worth.

From the other end, rather than banning athletes, maybe we should explore ways to support them to make healthier choices. It's time to revisit some of our expectations on doping and promote athlete welfare over what it means to win at all costs. In that way, doping will be a thing of the past.

I stand strong against doping in professional sports. While I acknowledge the pressure to perform, I believe that what is at stake in doping is actually against the bases of competition.

It is, therefore dangerous because it can lead to health consequences for the athletes. Besides, it is a very bad example for all young sports men or women considering their idols engaging in doping.

That said, I think there would have to be more avenues to support athletes suffering from the pressure to perform, such as giving them access to counseling to put their well-being first.

I think we need to make a subtle differentiation between the process of doping.

For example, a drug commonly used by athletes are stanazalol, which is for body building and burn down stubborn fat. Now, the World Antidoping Agency (WADA) has blacklisted this compound and atheletes are disqualified on the basis of taking this drug.

Is it fair to let only natural body builders to take part in a running competition or a javelin throw?

So, I think the intent must be understood.

Doping is a big no-no. There should be competition of uniformity and equal strength and talent, using enhancing agents like dope, makes the opponent automatically weaker, and then obviously defies the purpose of the competition/match/contest. If you want to be fit then follow nutritional diet and workouts just like everyone else and show your talent on the field.

I think that there should be leagues that allow doping. I would love to see a UFC-like league where doping is allowed, but nobody is tested for which compounds. This would give the fighters an edge, and the fights would be way more intense, especially if they take a suspension of a steroid or compound (one immediately released) or some other compound we don't even know about as a pre-game/fight kicker.

As far as doping in other leagues, it shouldn't be allowed for fair competition.

But, if we allow mutual combat in some states (if supervised by a law enforcement officer to stop it), we should allow leagues with participants that are willing to fight or play others regardless of what compounds they're on if they think that their ability combined with the compounds they're on will allow them to take the title.
