Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
My wife and my schedule finally aligned on a Sunday, which is not typically the norm, but instead of going out, we decided to stay in and watch Don't Move. This is a movie about a serial killer who paralyzes their victims with a concoction of injected substances, to do who knows what with them, before dumping their bodies.

Before watching it, we were putting it off until there would be nothing else to watch because of the low reviews and negative attention given to it that was all over her social media. So, going into the movie, we had low expectations. Nevertheless, I have to say that it didn't meet the low bar we set for it, and was even better than thought out to be, if you can dismiss the tiny plotholes of those moments you question, "How is that possible?" While the first 15 minutes are slow and melodramatic, it still adds some importance to the storyline that it builds into.

While this isn't a true crime story, it reminded me of the North Bend killer, as I'm from the area, which was just a man who killed his wife and hid out in a bunker he built in the woods to avoid punishment or to try and get away, mixed in with The Clovehitch Killer, which isn't a true story, but inspired by one, of a serial killer that blends in well with society.

The movie is marked as a horror/thriller, but there are plenty of suspenseful moments that make you question whether Iris, the targeted victim in Don't Move, will get help, or if it will end well for her then and there.

Don't Move has quite a bit of graphic violent scenes, so if that's something that can make you queasy, you should avoid watching it.

Has this movie come on your radar? If so, and it was all negative, I can assure you that it's not as bad as it is, or was, made out to be on social media.

When I first looked into the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings, they were quite low and matched what social media had to say about it, thus the reason to put it off for so long. However, it's now at a respectable 5.8/10 with 23K reviews on IMDb, but much lower on Rotten Tomatoes with a 38% Popcornmeter by 500+ raters. I would have to say that the IMDb rating is more reflective of how Don't Move is and would rate it a 3/5 for this Movie Night review.

Have you ever woken up face down in
someone's yard not knowing how you got there, you're not able to move your limbs and you're completely confused? This is what I saw in Don’t Move.

There is a man, who is a serial killer and he injected a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. He’s so evil and the woman being in that situation, she must run, fight and hide before her body shuts down.

Don't Move is a movie rated for strong violence and language. The moment I see him, I know that something bad's going to happen. That guy's up to no good. Finn Wittrock does a brilliant job taking this role. He has to lie to people when he gets caught up in the act and even try to cover his tracks when on the evil mission. It was sucha brilliant performance.

Why did she find herself in that situation? She found herself in that situation because she was grieving heavily over something tragic that happened to her. Or do you have a different opinion?

I love this movie because there are lots of moments that have me puzzled on what’s going to happen next. I also like the fact that it's a 90 minutes duration film and that's what makes it so tight. It gives it a very simple, but engaging narrative. It's absolutely interesting to watch.

What do you learn from the movie?

I’ve watched this movie multiple times and I can say that it's a thriller. The girl injected was paralyzed and unable to move her limbs. She's even trying to reach out to everyone around her and no one to find. She tried her best to get herself out of the situation. The guy who injected her for some strange reason keep her going even though he's doing evil things along the way. This is somehow confusing to me. Does anyone have an answer to this?

It's implied that he wants to do much more with her over several days when he says something along the lines of, "I'm going to braid your hair this weekend."

That's why he keeps her in a paralyzed state, or attempts to, the entire time.

I believe that's how must psychopaths do. They enjoy watching their victims suffer for as long as possible, like it is a source of amusement for them.
